First Night Student Sneak Peak

Join us for the First Night Student Sneak Peak at the Music Road Convention Center on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 beginning at 6:00pm. Enjoy greeting old friends and making new acquaintances. Instructors, vendors and sponsors will be on hand for questions and to meet your quilting needs. Enjoy a special showing of the quilts and shop for unique items prior to the public opening. Come to meet and greet as we kick off “A Mountain Quiltfest 2012”!

Antique Quilt Bed Turning

The Antique Quilt Bed Turning is back again this year by popular demand. This event, held each day in the lobby of the Music Road Hotel and Convention Center, will highlight quilts made before 1960.

  • • Wednesday, March 14th – Friday, March 16th at 10:00am, 1:00pm, and 4:00pm
  • • Saturday, March 17th at 10:00am and 1:00pm

Quilt Appraisals with our Quilt Appraiser

Sandra Palmer, an AQS-Certified Quilt Appraiser, joins us again this year from Vermont as our quilt appraiser. She requires pre-registration for an appraisal and each quilt being appraised requires a 30-minute time slot. The charge is $40.00 for one quilt, three or more $35.00 each, and five or more $30.00 each. Appraisals will be conducted in a private room at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center.
Sandra will be available to appraise quilts according to the following schedule:

  • Tuesday, March 13th
  • Thursday, March 15th
  • Friday, March 16th
  • Saturday, March 17th

Meal Lectures

The Pottery House Café, located at 175 Old Mill Avenue, Pigeon Forge, TN 37868, is the host restaurant for this year’s dinner and brunch lectures. If you are interested in attending any of these lectures, and if space is available, you may click on Register for Classes on the upper left corner. The Pottery House Café Meal lectures are scheduled as follows with the doors opening 30 minutes prior to each lecture:

Quiltfest Dinner Social

Mix and mingle with your fellow quilters on Friday, March 16 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at the Pottery House Café for $25. Included with your meal is a locally, hand-made A Mountain Quiltfest Pottery Mug. Show & Tell

All participants are cordially invited to bring their quilted items, cameras and friends to the Annual A Mountain Quiltfest Show & Tellon Friday, March 16, 2012, beginning at 7:00pm (Doors open at 6:00pm) at the Grand Majestic Theater, located at 125 Music Mountain Drive, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.

The Piecemakers Quilt Guild has two gift baskets full of fabulous quilting items that would make any quilter happy. Opportunities to be a proud owner of these baskets may be purchased at the Music Road Convention Center. Tickets are $1.00 each or $5.00 for six tickets. All money raised helps to support the guild in its efforts of making charity quilts and other activities.
