This class could be called a surprise course in strip techniques.  You will cover most of Marti’s favorite strip tricks, plus this block has a special twist.  A few years ago, Marti bought an antique quilt that became the inspiration for this class.  You could make the quilt with matching blocks, but you probably won’t want to. It is a charming scrap quilt.  Similar to some autograph blocks. Marti will share that variation also.  As a bonus, Marti shares machine quilting in sections just because her favorite model for this class is quilted in sections. Make an easy and very creative landscape, using Annette’s unique flip-and-sew textured landscape technique.  Unlock your creativity and learn the secret of adding extra dimension to your landscape quilt by free-form piecing an 8-1/2” x 11” mini landscape or seascape.   Sewing machine required.

You can do this?  No pivoting no set in seams when you use Klaudeen’s method for easy machine piecing.  Wall quilt measures 23” by 25”.  Choose a feature fabric for the ‘box tops’ (sample shows flowers).  Insure your success by adding a very light or very dark background and two coordinating fabrics for the sides of the ‘box’. Transfer-Eze, was the hottest item on the market floor in Houston.  Never use a light box again.  This fabulous new product will replace ALL tracing methods for embroidery, appliqué, punch needle, hand or machine quilting and more.  Student will work on small project in class from copy to finish.  Kit fee of $25 includes special student pricing on product (reg. retail $33).  Teacher will supply project and hoop to use.  Student supplies:  scissors or thread snips and any other "gear" they use for comfort when sewing.

A great class for beginners.  Using the spray starch method of appliqué to turn back edges, this class teaches all the basic appliqué techniques.  Perfect circles, easy stems, perfect points and curves, plus the important appliqué stitch will be covered in this class.  This dogwood is not only elegant, but easy and fun to make.  With our technique, we can help the beginner look like a professional.  Kit fee is $10.

Log Cabins quilts are a traditional favorite. They are easy and versatile. This off-center technique adds yet another dimension to this favorite quilt. Learn how to combine two different strip widths to create Curved or Round Log Cabin blocks. The class project will be based on “Round Pegs in Square Holes” in Marti’s book, Log Cabin ABCs.  Bring it if you have it, but Marti will have copies in class.  Marti will supply Log Cabin Rulers for use in class. Sewing machine required.

Reminiscent of a wool penny rug, this project’s quarter square triangles combine beautifully with simple circle shapes for a fun class project that won’t be destined to become another “UFO”.  You’ll receive in depth technique demonstrations with plenty of hands on sewing time to master Kim’s invisible machine appliqué method. Kim will also show how easy it is to finish your quilt using the “big stitch” style of hand quilting.  This is the perfect class to make you successful even if you’ve never appliquéd a stitch.  Simple Seasons book required.  Sewing machine required.

Quilting a landscape quilt is different than quilting a traditional quilt.  Remove all thoughts of feathers and crosshatching – you have to think terrain for the quilting to be effective.  Learn how easy it is to determine the appropriate quilting lines based on different terrains and how simply changing the quilting detail can create the illusion that one area is far away while another is closer.  And no, you will not have to relearn your quilting skills – just change a bit how you use those skills.  Workshop fee $20 includes printed background fabric, batting, backing fabric complete as sandwich.  Sewing machine required.

Indian Summer is a fun and versatile sunflower adaptation. The dimensional curves really make the sunflowers come to life.  In class students will make a smaller version of this full size quilt.  Sewing machine required.
