Any Material Fees listed are to be paid directly to the Instructor at the beginning of the specified quilt class. After registering for quilt classes, all relative quilt supplies lists will be mailed to you with your vouchers.

Finally curves are fun to do! In this class students learn the very basics of Vikki’s easy Crazy About Curves technique … a combination piecing /appliqué method of creating sharp curves and narrow points effortlessly and with precision but without the hassle of measuring seam allowances or easing seams. All construction work, color choices and stitching are done on the quilt top surface. Students will make a small sample project. Machine required. Introductory class.

This class is for the “want to be” quilter. Get to know the basics of quilt making. Learn to rotary cut precise-sized pieces for your quilt pattern. By making a selection of different blocks you will be able to make perfect ¼“seams, match those corners, and also learn the dreaded mitered corner! Also learn how to do triangles a fast, easy way. This is a fun class and a perfect time to make a sampler quilt. Machine required.

Enroll in this class and you will overcome your fear of free-hand rotary cutting.  Learn about weaving, fusing, and raw edge blocks as you experiment with color and design.  Of course, color is discussed as well as patterns in fabrics.  The border adds a new technique.  Piping adjacent to the binding shows your pieces deserved that little extra.  Machine required.

This simple medallion quilt is a heart-warming eye pleaser.  Four tulips dance in the center, with simple appliqué leaves and heart-shaped vines adding a delicate finishing touch.  Nancy will take you step-by-step through her machine appliqué technique, using a machine buttonhole stitch to finish the raw edges of the appliqué pieces.    Machine required.  Book:  Azalea Trail by Nancy Odom

Klaudeen will discuss basics, common to all quilts that judges consider when selecting the prize winners. She will stage a mock-judging to give you an overview of how the judging process actually works. Expect some surprises when she shows how decisions are already made by the committee that writes the rules and not by the judges. Learn how to give your own quilt a better chance to wear a ribbon at its next show! Bring your quilt or wall hanging to participate in the program.

In this class Vicki teaches her technique for free-motion quilting using two or more strands of thread through a single needle. Students learn how to stitch many of Vikki’s unusual design motifs and experiment with making up some of their own personal designs. Sewing machine capable of free-motion stitching and a desire to have fun is required. Learning to relax and enjoy the process is a must. Don’t forget to bring a darning foot. Student must be familiar with operating his/her machine and know how to change into a darning/free motion stitching mode and lower feed dogs. Machine Required.

Nancy uses a video camera and projector to give everyone attending a birds-eye-view of the techniques and tips she uses to get all that quilting done. Nancy shows quilts and shares how she uses a computer to design and publish full-color illustrations, patterns and class handouts. In this workshop learn how Sue stitched the fabulous edge on her award winning quilt “Le Panier de Fleurs”. This edge has received much attention since the quilt appeared in 2000.
